IMEnz Bioengineering is a biotechnology company that carries out applied
research of Industrial Microorganisms and Enzymes. IMEnz develops
processes to improve the sustainable production of biobased chemicals
from renewable raw materials. These organic sources can be the
widespread byproducts from the agri-related industry, including food and
feed producers, and the paper industry.
IMEnz bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial
applications to accelerate the innovations of our customers. Examples of
products and processes that we have co-developed are: various high
quality nutrients for fermentation; an economical process for the chiral
bioproduction of either D- or L-lactic acid; the engineering of (proteolytic)
enzymes to degrade biomaterials under extreme conditions; libraries of
microorganisms; enzyme libraries; a screening system for the discovery
of new antimicrobial agents; and the development and production of
binding proteins, to name a few.
Our innovations contribute to the development of a sustainable economy
while at the same time cost savings and a better climate are achieved.
